Mohammad Shahri Bin Samsi

Hello there! I'm Mohd Shahri, and I'm the founder of Shogun Fight Gym.

Our gym has been providing guidance and mentorship to at-risk youths since 2012.


Our primary focus is to help them become responsible and productive members of society. 

We are proud to say that some of these youths have become certified instructors and coaches, thanks to the training and support they received at Shogun Fight Gym. We believe that by teaching discipline, respect, and hard work, we can not only help our youths achieve their goals in martial arts but also set them up for success in life.

I have trained in various disciplines throughout my martial arts journey, including Silat, Judo, Muay Thai, Boxing, Gracie & Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and International Ju Jitsu. While I have tried other martial arts such as Tae Kwon Do, Capoeira, Krav Maga, and Kali, I never felt a deep connection to them.

In terms of street self-defense, I believe that a combination of Muay Thai, Judo, Boxing, and Gracie Jiu Jitsu are the most effective martial arts. These disciplines offer a balance of striking and grappling techniques that can be essential in real-life scenarios. However, it's important to note that self-defense is about much more than fighting - situational awareness, de-escalation tactics, and avoidance strategies are just as important as physical skills.
